Description
An old pre war cast iron village roadsign for Abbotsbury, Dorset UK. The sign was positioned on the side of an old building itself long forgotten.Most of these signs, especially in the South of England were taken down and lost or destroyed at the outbreak of the 2nd World War in case the Germans successfully Invaded the South Coast - The idea being that there was no need to tell them were they were!!
